Meet friendly Twente!
Holiday Center 't Schuttenbelt is beautifully located in the countryside close to the lovely village of Enter in the south of Twente, also known as the Reggestreek. A quiet area surrounded by relaxing nature, but an area that also offers plenty of fun for an active holiday for both families and large groups. You can explore the area by bicycle via the clearly indicated bicycle routes that lead you along the nicest parts of Twente. For true lovers of nature, we recommend a visit to De Holterberg (with new natural museum) for a great trip. It is seen as one of the most beautiful nature areas in the Netherlands.
There are various farms you can visit around Enter where you can try out and enjoy delicious traditional regional products from Twente. You can also pay a visit to Castle Twickel, make a day trip to the historical town of Ootmarsum with their unique open air museum or go to the Paardenmarkt in Enter, play farmer's golf, go for a ride on a covered wagon, go horse riding, pick your own strawberries, go swimming, play "klootschieten" (a ball game), go fishing, go canoeing or go boating with the historical Enterse Zomp on the Regge and go fishing. The famous 'Adventure Park Hellendoorn' is only 20 minutes away. We would love to give you a warm welcome to our friendly Twente!

Twickel Castle
Saved and inhabited
Castle Twickel is located in the center of the estate. The origin of the house and its inhabitants dates back as far as 1347. In that year, Herman van Twickelo bought the 'House to Eysinc', which quickly got renamed to Twickel.
Twickel was never sold: it passed from father to son or daughter. The last owner, Marie, baroness of Heeckeren and Wassenaer, put the country estate into the hands of the Twickel Foundation in 1953. According to her wishes, the castle is still inhabited to this day.
